Careers at Family Support Services

DSP stands for Direct Support Professional. DSPs provide one-on-one support for individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental disabilities. This role involves supporting a client on an individual basis in their home and may also include taking them out in the community to learn skills and socialize. This role varies depending on the individual but can involve teaching skills of independent living such as self-care, behavior management, budgeting, cooking, shopping, and cleaning as well as helping individuals accomplish their goals. Family Support Services does not have a physical facility, so ALL activities take place in the client’s home and/or community.

FSSI employees can choose how many clients they would like to work with and will work with each client and/or their family to create a weekly schedule. We are looking for patient, caring, enthusiastic, creative and dependable support professionals that want to make a difference.
